Intel Interactive Installation
Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Paris, San Francisco, New York
2013
A series of collapse-and-ship interactive pavilions for Intel Corporation and Vice Media located in Singapore, Hong Kong, San Francisco, New York, London, and Paris. The design uses sheets of robotically-cut and -folded hexagonal cells coordinated with an ecosystem of lighting outfitted with interactive proximity sensors. As visitors approach the installation the lighting changes to produce interactive visual effects of different hues and intensity-- tracking visitors and introducing them slowly into a new and luminous micro-branded Intel environment. Like a pearl in an oyster, an Intel Ultrabook is embedded within each installation, offering further computational control over the interactive lighting of the surroundings. Due to the incredible success of these initially temporary installations, Intel Corporation moved several of the installations into their corporate headquarters for permanent display.
